Remote control Lightroom slide show on Mac

I could use a remote control unit to step forward/back when presenting images in Lightroom.  Is there such an option, preferable a solid state unit, otherwise an app for iPhone?

I have a Logitec Presenter- same as this Amazon listing-

This works to advance (and reverse) the photos when played from the [Play] button in the Lr slideshow module (Manual change, but without any fade!). Very convenient with the [CTRL+ENTER] keyboard shortcut!

 

Once you export the slideshow to a video (mp4) then it will be your video player that controls the presentation. Lr seems to make an 'automatic' advance video regardless of a 'Manual' setting in the module, so only [Pause] may 'stopp' the video changes.

 

For Windows users (and Mac! but I have not tested)- I more commonly use XnView (free photo browser software) to create a 'self-executing' (.exe) slideshow. These slideshows will play with options for many 'fade' settings and Auto or Manual change- using a wireless (or wired) mouse as the remote controller.

P.S. since you have a Mac, the absolute best software to present images in a slideshow format is Apple's Keynote. It is a free download from Apple on the app store. It is Powerpoint on steroids. Fra better quality aniomations and far better quality image display and allows you to easily add titles and other text. Way better than anything else out there. Only disadvantage is that you have to export images and place them on the slides yourself. I do all my presentations for photo clubs and such with it.

    Any standard slideshow advancer should work. There are many types of these but typical ones with a little USB dongle from logitech and many other brands should work out of the box as all they do is pressing the advance and backward buttons.
