Remove Photos from Lightroom Cloud version but save locally in Lightroom Classic

I recently implemented Lightroom CC to my workflow. My problem is that when a clients photos are done and delivered I only want to archive them in lightroom classic and delete them from online sync (and from creative cloud as well.) is that possible?

also, photos I have in lightroom classic - is it possible to select photos (or preferable folders) to start syncing while I work with them and then 'unsync' them when I am done?

To add to Sahil's answer. When you unsync a collection in Classic (click on the little sync icon next to the collection name), the corresponding album and the images in it will be removed from the cloud but the images and the collection will remain in Classic. Just make sure that your Classic catalog is finished syncing before you do this.

Perfect! Thanks!

how is it with photos i import in Lightroom CC? Since I started using lightroom CC i do all imports in CC instead of classic - when the photos are synked with classic - can I delete them from CC at any time without losing them in classic?

Yes, what will happen when you delete them in the cloud version, they will be marked as unsynced in Classic but will remain there. Of course this only happens when they have synced down. The reason for this is that Classic does not consider the cloud as superceding it's local catalog. It sees the cloud as secondary. When something is deleted from the cloud, it is not deleted from the main local catalog. When you only use Lightroom Cloudy however and don't have Classic somewhere in the mix, the situation is different. Then if you delete something from the cloud, it will be deleted everywhere, even from the local image backups that you can set up with Lightroom Cloudy.

Hi Carl,

In Lightroom Classic, you have a choice of creating collections of images and then select the images you want to sync and put them in the same collection. You can also sync or unsync the collection any time. Read more about it here: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/lightroom-classic/help/photo-collections.html

Also, you may have a look at a similar conversation here and let us know if it helps: https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom/remove-photos-from-lr-cc-but-keep-locally/td-p/9424645
