REMOVING the Adobe Photoshop Elements External Editor

I would like to REMOVE permanently the PSE External Editor as I never use it, never ever. It is set as the prime external editor in Lightroom and apparently only ONE other external editor can be added as a "Photo>Edit In" option beyond PSE. To add a specific new edit-in option one must remove the only non-PSE option previously chosen in the "Add External Editor" box in the middle of the relevant Preferences pane. I've read posts and replies about this matter on this forum but have not found one specifically addressing my need to REMOVE PSE and thereby have TWO NON-PSE external editor choices available in the Edit In drop down window. Is such possible ?

Thank you very much.

A first time poster.

Lightroom automatically recognizes an installation of either Photoshop CC or Photoshop Elements. But you can set up a whole list of secondary external editors. Simply click the choose button in Prefs – click image below.

When you right-click on any Library thumbnail the context menu lets you make a choice of the application you wish to use.

I appreciate both Hal Anderson's and 99jon's replies but I am not able to replicate their suggested actions.

I now know that one cannot delete PSE. So I now have PSE and Mac's "Preview" as my two 'allowed' externals. Per the two screenshots below, when I click on Choose and try to add as my third external Nik's Silver Efex Pro 2, that action succeeds but also erases the 'Preview' external I wish to keep. I've tried it a number of times but always with the same "only two externals" results. The second shot below shows the return of Preview to my only allowed second choice. I could have added a third screenshot showing SilverEfexPro 2 but that would not have illustrated anything that I have not already written. When I use the 'Clear' function to the right of the 'Choose' function that erases whatever prior choice I may have made for the #2 external but does not help in adding a third.

99 jons wrote "  you can have as many external editors as you want " but I am simply not able to make this work.

    Help ! and Thank you.

You can't remove it, but you can have as many external editors as you want. It isn't obvious how to do it, though.
