Replacement for LR with good book module
Years ago, I decided to use Aperture instead of LR. It started getting long in the tooth and when Apple stopped its development, I decided to make the jump to LR. While photo edits and more advanced features were present in LR, the one thing that was never up to par was the Book Module. LR's instantiation of the Book module was a far cry from the UX provided by Aperture. It was amazing to me that the Book and Print modules behave differently and demonstrated Adobe's fragmentation within their own products. One thing I really liked about Aperture's book module was the ability to put anything anywhere on the page and the back-and-forth between image editing and the book module (allowing me to change the way a picture looks based on the feel of a specific book/page set).
Now that Adobe is end-of-lifing LR Classic, I'm wondering about switching photo management/editing software again. In so doing, I'd really like to get back to something with a great book layout implementation. Also, given all the face tagging, keywords, and events that I've done in LR, I'd also want something that would transfer those. And, of course, I'd want something that might be able to read my edited files so that I don't have to re-edit everything on transfer. I'm curious if there is anything that might meet these criteria in the experience of those on this forum. Is there anything that might give me the better UX experience of Aperture, the image editing power of LR, and allow me to transition my photos and edits?
