Resetting Preferences

Question

Hi, I am using the latest version of LR Classic CC (7.4) on Windows 10. I have been advised on another forum that I need to reset my preferences. The instructions say to hold the Shift & Alt key simaltaneously and start windows and I should get a dialogue box to reset preferences. Instead I get a dialogue box entitled "Adobe LR Classic CC Properties". Tried it many times, same result. I was advised to make sure the Cap Lock is not on and it isn't. No one on the Forum seems to be able to provide a solution to this. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

You have to click the shortcut to launch Lightroom first, then immediately press and hold Shift+Alt until the dialog for resetting preferences comes up.

Alternatively, you can delete the preferences file manually. With Lightroom closed, use the File explorer and navigate to

C:\Users\[your username]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\Preferences, and delete the file named Lightroom Classic CC 7 Preferences.agprefs. A new preferences file will be created when you launch Lightroom.
