Restore Develop Menu in Lightroom

When using Shift + F and/or Cmd + Shift + F I've lost the menu in the Develop tab.  Repeated Shift + F does not restore the menu.  Can't figure out how to get it back.  Can anyone help?

If Shift-Tab solves the problem, then the original problem was not that “Develop menu” was missing. The Develop module was there all along, but with panels hidden. In the future, if this happens again, keep the following in mind:

  • Pressing just Tab would have also restored the side panels, because that it what the Tab shortcut does. The real purpose of Shift-Tab is to toggle panels on all four sides (it also toggles the top and bottom panels).
  • Pressing F7 and F8 would also have solved the problem, because F7 toggles the left panel and F8 toggles the right.
  • If you forget which shortcut does which, you actualy don’t need any of them to solve this problem. In full screen mode, move the pointer to the top of the screen to reveal the menu bar, then toggle the visibility of any panel you need by choosing a command from the Window > Panels submenu. There you can see the commands for Toggle Side Panels and Toggle All Panels commands, as well as their shortcuts.

Thanks for the information. (Perhaps I wasn't clear in my query, but I know
that the Develop tab was available. It was the side panels that were
missing.)

Thanks for the link, but she didn't solve the problem either.  Finally, found the answer in the Lightroom Manual section on shortcut keys:  Shift - Tab hides or adds the side panels.

Hi there,

As the develop tab has disappeared from Lightroom, before restoring the preferences back to default could you please check on the top and click on the arrow and see if it brings back the Develop module? Please see the below image for help.

Is this in Windows or macOS?

Have you tried restarting Lightroom, or restarting your computer?

If neither of these work, try resetting the preferences.
