Question

running extremely slow

Importing, applying changes, zooming in, exporting.. everything extremely laggy and slow.

AMD Ryzen 7 8-core at 3,8 Ghz

16GB RAM

GTX 1060 6GB

Intel NVMe 960 Evo M.2 SSD

Why is this ?

I'm converting the raw files to DNG which should make things faster, but I don't see any improvement.

Would it help if the photos that I actually edit were on a separate HDD ?

What version NUMBER of Lightroom are you using? I want the version number and not words like "latest".

Speed or location of the disk that contains your photos is irrelevant.

What size is your monitor in pixels? (do not tell me inches)

What size photos in megapixels does your camera take? Do not tell me  megabytes.

If everything is slow, make sure face recognition is turned off, and sync with Lightroom CC is turned off. You have to confirm they are off, you can't just say "I don't use them" or "I know they're turned off", confirm they are off.

    Hi MichalS,

We're really sorry that you are facing a slow performance issue with Lightroom. Could you please let us know the exact version of Lightroom you are using now? If you are using Lightroom 6 Or Classic CC then, try turning off the GPU from the Lightroom preferences and check if that helps.

Go to Lightroom > Preferences > Performance > Uncheck GPU > Restart Lightroom.

    Regards,

    Mohit

    It's Lightroom 6, version 7.2

My GPU is pretty powerful.. wouldn't turning off the GPU make things even slower ?
