Saving Custom aspect ratios in LR Classic cc

For some reason LR Classic is not allowing me to create a size then save it so I can go back in and use it. I use to have two sizes all the time 1208x690 and 800x600

What am I missing or doing wrong?

Yes its really 1208x690 Its a weird size for the magazine I shoot for and my bad its 800 x 533

800 x 533 (1.5009) is very close to 3 x 2 (1.5000), but just different enough to produce sizes that differ by a couple pixels at larger resolutions.

Before proceeding, can you please copy/paste the first ten lines from Help > System Info? Knowing the precise version you're running will determine whether you're encountering the now-fixed bug.

First up, remember that this is a crop ratio, not a size.

So, your 800x600, well that’s really 8x6 or actually 4x3, and 4x3 is one of the built in ratios. So you cannot add 800x600

Second off, Lightroom Classic allows for up to five custom crop ratios. And once you create a sixth, the oldest one gets replaced by the newest.

And, if LR Classic is behaving, it remembers what those six were. and presents them next time you open your catalog (hmmm, what about multiple catalogs?)

The crop settings are sticky - the last size you entered should be still be there when you next access the crop tool. And custom sizes should appear in a list. 800 x 600 is a 4:3 ratio so that will default when you enter those dimensions or any other size that conforms to the existing sizes.

To build on cmgap's reply, when you enter 800 x 600 as a custom ratio, LR recognizes that as equivalent to 4 x 3 (800 / 600 = 4 / 3), which is a built-in ratio that always appears in the list, so LR uses 4 x 3 instead.

But 1208 x 690 doesn't match any built-in ratio (1208 / 690 = 1.75072...). Did you mean 690 or was that a typo for 960? 1200 x 960 is a very common ratio, equivalent to 5 x 4, but 1208 x 960 doesn't match a common ratio.

Older versions of LR had a bug with ratios that were close to built-in ratios but not identical. Please copy/paste the first ten lines from Help > System Info here so we can see which precise versions you're running.

Or is 1208 x 690 a typo for 1280 x 960, which is the same as 800 x 600 and 4 x 3? In which case, cmgap's explanation applies to both ratios you entered.

Sorry that you cannot save custom aspect ratios in Lightroom Classic, which version of Lightroom Classic are you using? (Like 8.3.1)
