Show Overlay

How can i set masking to always show the overlay box checked?  When I open a mask or add a mask, the show overlay box is always unchecked, I prefer for it to be checked when creating a mask or add a new mask.  Mac OS (latest) and LrC 12.5. TIA

Click the three-dot menu and select Automatically Toggle Overlay:
