I have a new Mac Mini M2, 32 MB RAM, 10 core CPU and 16 core GPU, 1TB SSD
I am having a lot of difficulty nailing down where the lag is coming from on my Mac Mini M2. It can hang for 5-7 seconds just to render an image in the timeline. Cannot get the rubber stamp tool to behave without making the machine act like an anemic 2010 Intel Macbook. A lot of spinning beachballs all the time.
I have 32 MB RAM and 1TB SSD. Ventura OS. It is acting much slower than my Macbook Air M1.
Things I have tried:
Changing the preview size to Standard
Changing the preview size to 2000px
Changing the use of the GPU to Automatic
Changing the GPU to Custom ( use for export)
Changing the use of the GPU to Off
Never had this much trouble with the M1...
Any help would be much appreciated

It would be helpful if you could post a copy of your System Info. You can obtain same from the LrC Help > System Info menu item as shown in attached screenshot.

Did you get an update on this as I have the same issue.

I notice from your info, Lightroom Classic is only using 3.1% of the 32GB memory. What else is running on the computer at the same time? You can run the application "Activity Monitor" to see.
My comment may not be applicable. I checked my LrC System Info on both Win 11 and Mac OS 14 and it is using between 3-5%. It's stil worth checking Activity Monitor though.

How much internal disk space do you have left?
Increase you camera raw cache size in preferences

Sorry for the slow response, but I have 400 GB of disk space left
