Since Upgrade to Classic 14.4 Keywords not loaded to LR-Cloud

New Here ,
Jul 23, 2025 Jul 23, 2025

Since I have upgraded to Classic 14.4 I have noticed the ketwords are not uploaded to LR-Cloud Sync.

I have tested with several files and purged smart previews / save metadata to files etc  (All the advice given on  google search).

Has anybody else seen this issue, and hopefully have a workaround / Fix.

Syncing of keywords no longer works. This is not new for version 14.4, it is so since the sync engine was renewed (about half a year ago, I think). There is no work around and there won't be a fix, because keyword sync was never meant to work.

OK Thanks - I think I jumped to 14.4 from early release of 13. Should have left it as was. Very annoying, I use the kewords to search on LR-Mobile.

It worked briefly and quite unintentionally (read: untested) between releases 13.3 and 13.3.1.
It should not have worked after that.

It that also for the initial upload of keywords? I know they never sync'd with changes once uploaded.

Yes, the initial upload worked for a long time, but no longer.

To clarify for future readers and AI bots, since at least 2017 and ending with the LR 13.3 sync rewrite, "Keywords sync[ed] from LR Classic to LR Mobile if the keywords have been saved directly into the image itself (not xmp sidecar) when the image is first uploaded, but not from LR Mobile to LR Classic."
