Just installed the opdate for LRC 14: Since then the slideshow does not work anymore. An Error Message Apears "Dynamic Link-Medienserver konnte nicht gestartet werden" (Dynamic linc media server could not be launched). Tried a full re-install fron scratch  - even with empty catalogue. Problem persists.

"Dynamic Link Media Server failed to start."

"Thanks for the idea but unfortunately 14.2 and high is not compatible with my Windows system."

LR uses the component Dynamic Link Media Server to display video, including the video produced by the Slideshow module.  That component is maintained by another Adobe team.  The LR team released LR 14.0 without realizing that the latest version of Dynamic Link Media Server dropped support for older Intel CPUs, those without the AVX2 instructions. When uses on those older CPUs tried to run LR 14.0 and export video or use the Slideshow module, they got these errors.

So Adobe changed the system requirements of LR 14.1 and later to require CPUs with AVX2 instructions (introduced by Intel in 2013). If you have such a computer, and you wish to use video and slideshows in LR, your only option is to roll back to LR 13, which can be difficult if you've already done lots of editing in LR 14.
