Question

Slow performance after waking up from standby

Have you ever noticed that Lightroom runs very slowly on a Mac Pro after waking up from sleep mode? Scrolling in the library becomes slower, focusing the photos, scrolling in large photos with right and left swipe, ... and so on. When Lightroom is restarted, it's fast again. Any tips?

Is this on a MACBook? And on battery? MAC OS would have throttled CPU use down.

Try rebooting your Mac Pro and the see if it still happens when you come out of sleep mode.

    I'm afraid that doesn't help.

It is quite simple. I start the Mac Pro. Open Lightroom and it's fast. I put the Mac Pro in standby and press the space bar to wake it up. Lightroom is slow. I close Lightroom and open it again and it runs fast again.

My Mac Pro often goes into standby, of course, and for some time now I've been wondering why Lightroom is sometimes so slow. Now I know.
