Soft Proof Copy Name on Export

I use soft proofing and use the original for adjustments rather than a copy.  I have changed "File Name and Copy Name"  to "File Name" in the View > View Options > Loupe View, so the profile name and rendering intent are omitted at that level.

The issue is on export.  Whenever I make a soft proof, the Copy Name in the metadata panel adds the profile information.   I can change it by reapplying a metadata preset, but that can easily be missed.

QUESTION:

How can I force LR to always just use the File Name on export?   I'm using 3rd party apps so I need matching file names between my exported and RAW files.

Thanks.

In the Export window, you can control how the exported files are named in the File Naming section:

You have the option of using either the actual filename or the copy name.

Hi John.   Thanks for the reply.   Is there any way to control it before it gets to that point?   For example is there a way to hold the metadata preset so it does not change as soon as I make an adjustment to soft proof?

The issue is that for exporting, I am using a plugin to create the jpeg files, then automatically import them into another application.   I don't have the ability to change the copy name through an export preset as you suggest.

Thanks again.

Ron Nicholsfor exporting, I am using a plugin to create the jpeg files

It sounds like that plugin is choosing to use the Copy Name field for naming the exported files.  That's a little curious, since by default regular exports use the filename, not the Copy Name.

Is there any way to control it before it gets to that point?

I don't think so -- the Copy Name is automatically filled in by LR, and there's no preference controlling it.
