sort photos by orientation (horizontal/vertical)

It seems that the feature to search and sort photos by orientation (horizontal/vertical), which is available in Lightroom CC, is not present in Lightroom Classic. Why is that?

It is available in at least two places: 

Library Filter - set Metadata column to Develop>Aspect Ratio
Smart Collection - set Criteria to Size>Aspect Ratio

Either will show you Portrait/Landscape/Square
