Stop lightroom moving my photos!

New Here ,
Aug 18, 2018 Aug 18, 2018

Hi All,

I am very happy with the folders I keep my photos in, and how I put them, and what hdd I store my photos on, however lightroom has different ideas!

Every time I import, it deletes them off where I have them nicely organized where I will not get them confused, and puts them onto the wrong drive and organizes them purely in date order - argh!

How do I stop lightroom moving my files  and re-ogranising them? I want the files kept exactly where I left them and in the same folders please haha!

Thanks for your help - adobe classic pc user.

The import dialog offers different options. If you want your images to remain in their current location, be sure to choose the Add option.

You do that yourself in the import dialog. Select 'ADD' at the top of the import dialog if you do not want to copy or move the images.
