Somehow I made the merge function a task and cannot figure out how to undo it.   I photo merge and get the message "photo merge added to tasks".

I do not see a merge anywhere

How do I undo this??

Set the Sort: (Order) to Capture Time.

There is a bug in LR C CC 7.1 that somehow keeps changing the sort to Added Order. Which puts any new images created through a merge or export or Edit In to the end of the film strip and grid view.

I WAS running into the same problem.

After executing a merge, I'd to get the same message telling me "photo merge added to tasks".  Thereafter, I was unable to find the merged .dng file.  After banging my head on the table for a while I scrolled to the end of the library folder where I found multiple copies of the merged .dng files.

Before the shakeup, the merged .dng file was saved in a location immediately following the un-merged .dng files. Now, it appears they're being saved as new additions at the end of the library folder.

Now, I want to know how I can make the merged files appear where they did before Adobe made everything better!

    Is this a Lightroom question?

Could it be your system is extremely busy and what you are asking LR to do has to wait for the system to catch up.

Personally I have never seen any option or message about adding any function in LR as a Task.

LR does call a merge a task so how many do you have working when this message comes up.

Current tasks can be viewed just under the identity plate.
