Tethered Capture with Nikon D3xxx series

Hi I've recently started doing a school program in photography and I'm using my Nikon d3400.  It has been sufficient for all the requirements of this years classes until the other day when we needed to tether to lightroom in the studio for tethered capture.  I have since realised that the d3xxx series may be among a small group of Nikons that aren't able to shoot tethered capture in lightroom. The series isn't on this list  A list of cameras that can be tethered to Lightroom Classic CC and Lightroom 6    This is frustrating because there are lots of Nikon bodies from the last 10 years, which like the d3xxx are cropped sensor, which dont have a built in AF motor, and which were likely at the same price range when they released. Why the d3xxx are not supported I do not understand but I believe it is something nikon has done, or failed to do on their end, and not because of an adobe oversight.

I cant find where I read it but I believe that there is a piece of software which needs to be included on a cameras firmware to allow for Lightroom to do its tethered capture.  And that the D3xxx series is missing this.   I am hoping that perhaps there is a firmware update to resolve this issue.   I have the full suite of adobe software, so if there are any other adobe programs which can also do tethered capture which I could try, I could then make Lightroom access the directory that that other program saves to.

If anyone has had experience with this series and found a solution to achieve tethered shooting I would appreciate any help and suggestions.

I have also already posted a topic on the Nikon forums to ask for advice there as well.  But I am waiting for an admin to approve and post my topic,  and their forums look pretty slow so I wanted to post here too.

Thank you for any assistance you can offer.

In order for Adobe to provide tethered support for a Nikon camera, Nikon must update their SDK to support the camera. If Nikon doesn't do their part then Adobe can't provide support. Nikon has chosen not to support tethered shooting for your camera model in their SDK. Consequently, tethered support cannot be provided in Lightroom. I don't believe there has been support for tethered shooting for any of the 3xxx series Nikon cameras.
