All,

I am unable to get a clear answer from support. what causes this error? I am targeting image 17 to match images 1-16. I am not sure what causes it so I dont know where to start.

"I am targeting image 17 to match images 1-16."

Your screenshot shows 17 is most-selected, with 16 also selected. The Match Total Exposures command will adjust the Exposure setting of 16 to match the effective exposure value of 17 (the most-selected photo), not the other way around.

I'm guessing the error message is caused by one of the target images (e.g. 16) missing some of the required EXIF fields: shutter speed, aperture, and ISO.  Select each target image in turn and look in the Metadata > EXIF panel to verify those fields are present.

If that doesn't help, then upload the source and target images to Dropbox, Google Drive, or similar, and post the sharing link here.  We can take a detailed look at the photos' metadata.
