Question

Unable to export presets in new Lightroom CC

Hi all,

been reading a few discussions and still been unable to solve my issue. I am able to save presets correctly as the new XMP files, however when I try to import these into Lightroom to check if they're functioning, they are not showing up. I've directly imported through the preset "+" button on the develop module and also tried copying them into the appropriate folders directly. (Lightroom Settings > Settings) and (Lightroom Settings > Develop Presets) I've tried copying in the preset folders as well as individual presets. Nothing seems to be working.

Help is greatly appreciated.

Cheers

I´m having the exact same problem!

I need to export my presets .xmp to other users. But, when i´m trying to import new .xmp files, they just don´t appear on my Lightroom Presets, even when they are copied to the correct folder ( C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw\Settings\ ). The lightroom are not recognizing the folders or .xmp files copied in this folder...

Please, Help us!!

=(

What preference option do you have for ?-

This will determine where LR is looking for presets.

I have no trouble 'importing' presets to the default LR location and they appear by either of the two methods 1) 2)-

With thanks to https://creativetacos.com/wedding-lightroom-presets/

1) Right-click the User group and select [Import],  find the .XMP, select it in the Explorer dialog, and click on [Import].

"Wedding Filter 1" installed.

2) Copy and paste the .XMP into the {Settings} folder- Restart Lightroom

"Wedding Filter 2" installed.

Please post a screen-clip of the top 10 lines from your system info-  LR MENU:  HELP > SYSTEM INFO...

It may help diagnose your problem.

Assuming you're referring to Lightroom Classic 7.3, then the XMP Presets are imported/stored into the following folders

Mac: Macintosh HD/Users/ [your username]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/ Settings/

Windows: C:\Users\[your username]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw\Settings\

There is no path to these locations using "Show Lightroom Presets Folder..." in the Presets tab found in Lightroom System Preferences.

Thanks Ian,

However for some reason the presets are still not showing up in Lightroom even when copied into that folder. Just can't seem to get them to show up for some reason!

not showing up in Lightroom even when copied into that folder

What TYPE of presets are you 'copying' to the new {Settings\User} folder?

If they are .LRTEMPLATE presets then they should be placed in the 'old' v7.2 folder location (Lightroom Settings > Develop Presets) and Lightroom will automatically convert and add them to the 'new' v7.3 folder location as .XMP

when I try to import these into Lightroom

If you create a new preset within Lightroom (click the + ) then the preset will be automatically added into the {User} folder as an .XMP

If you Right-click the [+] and select {Import} then you will need to be importing .XMP type presets- (not the 'old' .lrtemplate type)
