Nikon Z9 nef files trying to import from NAS.

displays an error during import :unknown error.

import setting "add" not move, or anything else...

TS steps

restart mac m2

try to import by "adding" from NAS. results in unknown error.

Deleted files from NAS and imported AGAIN. Same result

Nikon Studio reads the files just fine.

Photo mechanic reads the files just fine.

Finder reads the files just fine.

LRC during import fails.

So lets not go down the road of your images/files are currupt as all other apps open them just fine.

This is a newspaper job that wants their pics in a timely manner.

As a professinal that makes a living as a photographer I am absolutely FED UP w/ Adobe and their Beta software. LRC is a complete POS. The last problem I had was LRC shooting tethered and after several attempts to get ADOBE to own the issue, I get the run around on how it's a APPLE problem. Very seldom if ever does ADOBE EVER OWN THEIR issue and provide outstanding CS. Instead they pass the buck and place blame on another company and simply go onto the next issue.

If it wasn't for 20 years and over 80k of pics in my catalog I would've switch in a second.

ANY user that has any ideas It would be greatly appreciated. If this is monitored by adobe(I hope it is) skip over if you want to stay true to ADOBE cs and blame another app/camera/file. Just own the issue.

Thanks to anyone that can provide any additional ts steps.

How are you connecting to the NAS? Since you're on a Mac, you should be using SMB filesharing for this and not AFP which Apple has long ago deprecated and I would not use anymore on modern machines. Hopefully you're also connecting through ethernet and not through wifi. I have several terabytes of images on a Synology NAS actively managed in Classic and have never experienced any issues with it. I could be lucky of course but there is no reason why this wouldn't work.

Have you successfully imported from the NAS previously? How are you connected to the NAS?

Try putting the files on a local drive and import from there.
