new dell 8960

A new computer. Either from Dell, or from a store?? Dell might be better at this, Some stores may be hopelessly lousy at this.

1. Computer hardware drivers

So, have you made sure that all the various drivers for that computer from Dell have been updated? I am not talking of just the GPU driver, but all the various chip set drivers, Ethernet drivers, etc.  Some might be critical. (I will not talk about BIOS, updating that can be hazardous)

Have you visited the Dell Support pages for your computer, and checked for driver updates?

Note that trying MS Windows updates for this is a no go.

2. Can I assume your Windows OS is up to date, that no updates are called for?

3. What about the GPU driver. This via GPU chip MFG. NVIDIA or AMD.

Here are a couple of links that might help

1. Reset LrC Preferences

2. Optimize the computer for LrC.

What do you have for a GPU? Be you have the latest driver direct from the manufacturer, not from Dell or Microsoft.
