Question

Unspecified slowness complaint

I tried to send an e-mail to Adobe, but they do not make it easy.  I'm still searching for the support e-mail address -- so I will make this comment public.  Adobe, it doesn't seem to matter how fast your computer hardware is, Lightroom Classic is still painfully slow and a poorly optimized piece of software.  I absolutely hate using it.  Adobe, somoene else is going to step in and make something better.  This software is horrible.  You've had years to make this run better, but it keeps getting worse!  Please don't tell me to optimize my catalog, because that's not it!  It's you!

What specific actions in Lightroom CLassic are slow? Please show us the information in Help->System Info, down to the GPU Information.

I'm running Core i7-12700H, plus an Nvidia RTX 3070TI, 64GB of ram, plenty of hard drive space, two 4k displays running at the same time.  I did update my video card drivers and saw a slight improvement, however it still seems like it should be faster.  When starting the program it runs OK for about 10 minutes, but if you let it sit, and then come back to the software, or use it for an extended period of time it starts to slow down.  Processor is not running hot.  This was an overall general complaint about the software, and I'm not expecting an immediate solution, I just wish they would engineer this to run smoother, as my hardware is clearly good enough.

Not everybody has this problem, although it does happen, so I'd guess there's something about your setup that's causing it.

If it's that bad, though, and you can't resolve it, there are good alternatives to Lightroom.
