Question

Updating mask on multiple images

I consider this a bug. If I select several images with the same mask and change one setting in one of the images, it updates all images's setting with the same exact settings of the updated image, including the position, size , etc... instead of just the changed setting.

eg. 3 photos with Linear Gradient "Mask 2". All have different settings. If I change the Blacks on the selected image, it should update only the Blacks on the other photos and not all other settings, and much less, the size and position of every mask

I think you are missing some steps in your description.

"If I select several images with the same mask."

By "the same mask", do you mean A) you synced/copied the mask from one image to the others>?  Or B) did you apply the same preset to all of them, where the preset contains a mask?  Or did you C) use the Masking panel to separately apply the same mask component (e.g. linear gradient) to each of the photos, and they happen to have the same name, e.g. Mask 1 > Linear Gradient 1?

"change one setting in one of the images, it updates all images's setting with the same exact settings of the updated image"

After initially adding the masks to the images with methods A, B, or C, and then change the settings of the mask on one image, do you mean that you then use Sync, Copy-Paste, or Auto Sync to copy the change from that image to the other images?

The behavior in these cases is different, and I believe it is by design. Once you provide more precise step-by-step details of what you're doing, I can explain the behavior.

All I mention is Auto Sync related. If I have several images selected with the same mask and I change just one setting in one of the images, every other setting is copied to the other images from the mask of the selected image.

Imagine that 3 images share the same mask, but each mask has different settings. I just want to change exposure in all of them, but when I change the exposure in one image, every other setting is also copied to the other images, and they end up with all the settings of the image I've just updated and not just the exposure.

If this is by design, it is wrong. Only the changed setting shoud be updated in the other selected images.

By the way. When you select several images and update just a setting in one, only that setting is copied to the others. Why not the same behaviour with masks???

I'm sure this is as designed, so consider filing a feature request.
