Hi,

after buying the offline version from Lightroom Classic CC offline i now get the message that i need to license the system with a monthly membership. I thought it is an one time buy for offline use without version updates. Why am i not able to use Lightroom Classic CC offline?

What steps do i need to take to use Lightroom Classic CC ofline without a monthly membership?

Regards,

Dirk-Jan

Did you get things resolved, ok?  I cannot quite tell from these messages if you did or not.

From my reading, it seems that you purchased LR 6, and then installed LR Classic CC by mistake, after being prompted to update.

What you should do is uninstall LR Classic CC and go back to using LR 6, and maybe you'll need to re-install and re-license LR 6 from the Dutch pages you posted links to.

Licensing involves entering in the LR 6 serial number into the LR CC 2015 trial.

I wanted to buy an offline lightroom version without any subscription. I do not need photoshop. Lightroom suits me well enough and i do not use it so often. Next to other hobbies this one.

When it is a one time buy without updates i can work with it for a long time. I am a basic user.

I fully understand tjm93506524. As basic user you don't use a sophisticated software every day and you don't make money out of it. Just for fun. As non professionels we are used to pay a software as one time purchase and with a warranty and update care for a specific time you know. Adobe don't reward loyal users as I am since 10 years with a dicount for upgrading.

Changes in hardware in future time, cameras, is not a good argument to defend this politic. There will be no change in file formate for pictures, very few in video formates. Adobe let us feel his dominance on the market in a negative way.

Nikon has an other politic, most software working with Apple, Final Cut, Roxio, BeLight etc. Windows office, still working for at least 8 years. Anti-Virus Software. You don't have to care for updates and you have a clear view of future expenses. Who tells us that Adobe wil not increase the monthly fee next year?

It seems that you have misunderstood. Lightroom Classic CC is a subscription only Lightroom that includes Photoshop. You can purchase as a one-time only purchase Lightroom 6. Lightroom 6 is no longer being updated, so after you install the final 6.14 update you will no longer receive any updates for new camera support. When did you install Lightroom Classic CC, and what gave you the impression that it was a standalone version and was a one time only purchase?

I did buy a lightroom version without updates.

I did buy it the first of may.

in lightroom installed i see a higher version 7.3.1.

I will see if i can download and then down grade to 6.14 version.

Thanks for the reply

This is an unfortunate bug. You should not see this and you should definitely not download it. You'll get lots of problems if you do. Download Lightroom 6 from here: Download Photoshop Lightroom

These are two separate issues.

Lightroom Classic CC is subscription (monthly or yearly) only.

You can use it either online or offline — if you use it offline, it has to go online briefly every 30 days (for monthly subscription) or every 99 days (for annual subscription) to make sure your subscription is paid up.

So Adobe changed it's politics and has no longer products to arrange photos in a stand alone computer? You have to pay your monthly fee? There is no other choice?

It depends a bit on your definition. Adobe has no Lightroom product with a perpetual license any more. Your only choice is to pay via a subscription. But Lightroom Classic does run on a 'stand alone computer'. It's not a product that runs in the cloud or needs the cloud.
