Video files rotated or upside down in LR Classic

I just tried this with my iPhone 8 plus. Took a video with the phone held vertically, home button at the bottom. Imported the video into LR and it is rotated 90 degrees to the right

Took a Video with the phone held horizontally with the home button on the right, imported the video into LR and it is fine.

Took a Video with the phone held vertically, home button at the top, imported into LR and it is rotated 90 degrees to the left…

While in LR, click on any of the videos, Show in Finder, and view the video either via Preview or Quicktime and they are all oriented exactly as they were captured.

A client of mine has a BUNCH of videos that are upside down.

This looks like a bug that was introduced in some update of LR as this did not used to be the behavior.

How to fix the videos in LR to correct the rotation? Any help??

Thx

I am having the same problem and I know it didn't used to do this because I have vertical videos in my Bridge files that are correctly oriented.

Like KCB56, when I look at the video outside of Bridge, it plays in the correct orientation. When I imported the video into Photoshop, again it was rotated.

As has been stated in other questions/discussions, vertical video may not be the "standard" but it is useful in certain situations. Stop rotating, ie, applying "edits" that are not requested!

Please add details of your issue to this bug report: Lightroom Classic 2018: Portrait movies wrongly rotated | Photoshop Family Customer Community . Be sure to click Me Too and Follow in the upper-right corner. This will make it a little more likely Adobe will prioritize a fix, and you'll be notified when the bug's status changes.
