Question

Viewing recently exported images

I recently exported a image that I edited in L.R. just to convert it to a jpeg and delete the CR2 image to save hard drive space. I want the jpeg image to be viewable in the same folder in Lightroom that it was in prior to the edit. Is there an easy way to do this and to have all future edits to end up in their original folder to view on L.R. without having to import back into L.R. everytime?

Thank you all. Your replies were very helpful. I knew this was an easy one and I just overlooked something.

Search YouTube for 'Lightroom Tutorials' for more help than most people can remember.

Go to jkost.com and watch hours of Lightroom videos

Search Google for "Lightroom Killer Tips'

Search YouTube for 'Chris Orwig Lightroom'

Jim types faster and beat me with the same answer.  I won't delete it because I made a diagram for you!

Open the export dialog and set it up like shown.  It will create a JPEG with the same file name as the RAW.

Deleting the raw file when being my choice, but then isn't my workflow that I am advising. If that is what you want to do, and you feel confident, I suppose there is nothing wrong with it. When you set up the export options you would want to set the destination folder to be the same folder as the original image is in. One of the export options is to add the image to the catalog. If you do that then the exported image will be added and viewable in Lightroom.

The Export Dialog gives the option to export to any location desired.
