Virtual Copy shortcut not working after LR Classic 11.5 update

Hey,

I'm having issues with the virtual copy shortcut. After updating LR Classic to 11.5 it stopped working. MacOs Monterey 12.5

I've seen some posts about it from couple of years ago and tried all the suggested things...among others:

- Checked keyboard shortcut settings - Move focus to the next window shortcut is unticked

- Reset preferences settings in LR + restart - didn't help

Does anyone has the same issues? What can be done about it?

Thanks

I was curious why the shortcut didn't work for me either (on a Mac mini, Monterey 12.6, same Lightroom version) and found this thread which describes a conflict with LastPass password manager, which I use.

Hard to believe that would be the cause, since I couldn't find any way LastPass was using the shortcut... but I closed Safari then killed LastPass services with Activity Monitor, and without even restarting Lightroom, the Create Virtual Copy keyboard shortcut started working.

From the thread above, I tried the suggestion to remove all the keyboard shortcuts from LastPass preferences to permanently resolve the conflict, and it worked!

I don't know if you use LastPass, but thought I would share this just in case.

Life saver! Lastpass it was indeed.

I deleted all shortcuts from lastpass and it worked. I'm now able to create virtual copies with CMD+' again!

Select s photo, in the menu bar bring up Photo, look at what is shown for Virtual Copy shortcut. On by U.S. English (and yes we do not actually speak English) the shortcut is CNTRL + '  CMD + '

Two oddities

  1. Right clicking and looking at the option to create virtual copy does not show shortcut
  2. If I have the menu, photo, selected (as in seeing what the shortcut is) and I use the shortcut, the virtual copy does not show up until after I move on from that menu selection.

Followup, hat tip Ian Lyons, I overlooked MACOS, and yep CMD + '

also, on my MACBook, oddity 2 does not apply. just on my Windows Wksta.

@GoldingD

The OP is using a Mac. Therefore, the 'english'shortcut should be Cmd+'

Yes, it's Cmd+'

It worked flawlessly in the previous version with the update it's not.

There have been similar reports on macOS platform over recent months. Can you advise:

  • what country is your keyboard intended for?

  • what language have you configured macOS for?

  • what language have you configured LrC for?
