Which new CPU - GPU for editing

Hello,

I need to replace my (very) old and tired laptop to run LrC 11.1 and other app smoother with Win 10, and face the choice of new CPU and GPU, together with 32 Gb memory and 1 Tb SSD:

either: i7-11800H (8 cores, 2.30 - 4.60 GHz) and Geforce GTX 1650

or: i5- 11500H (6 cores, 2.90 - 4.60 GHz) and Quadro T1200

Would you favor the higher clock speed or the number of cores? Adobe state "for best performance, up to six cores;" but some benchmark results indicates 8 cores could be better...

I'm mainly interested in performance when culling, assembling panoramas and working in developp module.

Thanks for advice or real-life feedbacks

I think that's very old advice. I don't know if it is valuable at this time. I have a 12 core processor and it seems really really fast.

If you are mainly interested in culling and panoramas, I believe these things need CPU speed. GPU speed is irrelevant for these. GPU speed is also pretty irrelevant for monitors that are less than 4K. I would get the fastest CPU you can find, and if you have less than a 4K monitor, go for a relatively inexpensive GPU.

Of the two CPUs you listed, the second one has the highest performance benchmark rating according to cpubenchmark.net
