So, for some reason photos in Lightroom that I've imported end up being duplicated into a folder like this.
They are full-size duplicates, JPG & RAW (.NEF).
I just did a test importing from an external, from desktop, and also backing up and it didn't happen at any of those points - so I'm not sure when exactly it does happen but as long as I've had LR - 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 folders and I'm definitely not creating them.
My file handling on import is "Add" and I still have a Lightroom Catalog in Pictures with all the backups and previews.
Any idea what is happening?
Thanks

Where are you importing from? If you are importing from a card reader or directly from a camera, you can't use add and it will always copy the files to your destination setting. You can only use Add if you are importing from your local disk or an external hard disk. It is also possible that you have "Make a second copy to:" checked but that is only possible when you use Move or Copy.

Is it possible your camera has been accidentally set to shoot RAW+JPG?

I meant that it was making duplicates of my RAWs and JPEGS.

Thank you @Jao vDl
I didn't realise it would be different importing from an external to an SD card.
