why is Rosetta/Emulation Mode on in LRClassic using MAc studio Apple M1 Ultra?

@photoyogi, if you're asking how to disable Rosetta when running LR:

1. In Finder, navigate to:

/Applications/Adobe Lightroom Classic/Adobe Lightroom Classic.app

2. Select Adobe Lightroom Classic.app and do the menu command File > Get Info.

3. Uncheck the option Open Using Rosetta:

The Lightroom Classic core application is Apple Silicon native, so in most cases it should be opened normally, not through the Rosetta translation layer for Intel code (technically it isn’t emulation, but translation).

However, there have been some specific code components that were not yet Apple Silicon native. Some examples have been the Creative Cloud installer, and also the code for tethered shooting for specific cameras (see the Adobe help article Tether support on Apple Silicon devices). In the past, Rosetta has been needed to get those working. Adobe has been converting more of those loose ends to be Apple Silicon native, so running through Rosetta has been much less necessary in recent versions. But that article says Rosetta is still needed for tethered shooting.

If I am not doing tethered shooting, I always start Lightroom Classic normally and it runs very fast on my M1 Pro (less powerful than your Mac Studio).

Try starting Lightroom Classic normally and see how that goes. If you run into something that isn’t working, check the Adobe help article Known Issues in Lightroom Classic.

I'm not a Mac user and don't pretend to understand why Apple relies on Rosetta 2.  But it does use it for some things like installation and support for extensions. 

As such, I'm reticent to suggest that removing Rosetta 2 would be in your best interests.  I honestly don't know what the consequences might be.
