Why won't my photos print in Lightroom?

When I select photos in the Develop module and go to Print, I find that the photos don't print out.  For example, I tried to print a set of contact prints from a recent holiday and all that printed were the file names: no photos. I wondered if it was my printer (Canon iP4600) so tried to print as a PDF instead.  But the PDF that was created was identical to the print out from the printer.  On a couple of occasions I have succeeded in printing photos so I am beginning to think it is good old "user error".  Can anyone help me?

Please send full size screen shots of your last 2 shots so we can read them.

Oooooops! Big oops.  Somehow I have been just trying to print from the Canon printer dialog box rather than just hitting the big button labelled PRINT in the actual Lightroom screen.  When I press that it all prints fine and dandy,  So - problem solved.

I am still unable to print anything out of Lightroom.  I even tried buying a new Canon printer and that would not print either.  If I choose the print a PDF option from the Canon printer menu then all that produces is a blank page just as the printer just produces a blank page.  For the moment I have to export an image from Lightroom into Photoshop and print from that. I am using an iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2017).

Hi adrianb87595182

I see your problem is ongoing after some months. (with a correct answer- so nobody reads your thread!)

(First -I am not a Canon user. So no specific advice!)

You will need to supply more information for answers to come your way.

Your Operating System Version Number?

Your Lightroom Version Number?

Your exact steps in workflow-

eg. How you- Select photos, go to the print module, setup up your printer options in the Printer dialog, Layout settings, etc.

Some screen-clips showing selected images, Layout panels, etc, might also help.

Regards. My System: Windows-11, Lightroom-Classic 15.1.1, Photoshop 27.3.1, ACR 18.1.1, Lightroom 9.0, Lr-iOS 10.4.0, Bridge 16.0.2 .

Hi

Thanks for getting back to me.

Operating System Version Number:   MacOs Mojave  on an iMac Retina 5k with 3.4GHz Intel Core i5

My Lightroom Version Number:  Classic CC  8.1 Release  Camera Raw 11.1  Build 1200465

Here are my exact steps:

1.  Edit image in Develop module.

2. Go to Print module and select single image from the Layout Style option.

3. Select printer from Printer option and select option with Canon printer interface. 4.

4. When I go to print all that happens is that the printer goes into print mode and a blank page of paper is processed through the printer. So there is something going on between the printer and the Lightroom programme but the actual image data is not getting through.  Is that enough information?  Am I doing something enormously obvious wrong?  When I send the image out of Lightroom and into Photoshop I find I can print pictures 100% of the time.  Many thanks for your help here.

Hi adrianb87595182,

Sorry that Lightroom is not printing the images properly. Could you please let us know the version of Lightroom you're using?

Also, please check for any available printer drivers from the printer manufacturer's website. Refer the troubleshooting steps mentioned here: Troubleshoot Photoshop printing problems

Let us know if that helps.

Thanks,

Akash
