Will Lightroom Classic not auto tag faces like Lightroom CC does?

I have noticed that Lightroom CC does a great job auto-tagging faces but that they don't sync with Lr Classic (desktop). Is this not a capability? It's very important.

    Probably some confusion with what actual application you are referring to when you state Lightroom CC ( Mobil)

    Adobe Lightroom CC (the cloud based POS, sorry venting), pretty sure no Face Rec.

    An old copy of Adobe Lightroom Mobil, pre CC, fairly sure not that

    Something us old Codgers completely ignore?

    Ah, I see Adobe Lightroom on iPAD (etc)  has people mode. unfortunately see this:

    hi harrybarnettw,

    If you chose to find faces in the entire catalog, wait for indexing to complete. You can continue to work as Lightroom Classic indexes your images. Lightroom Classic uses imaging characteristics to find faces, and then stacks images of similar faces together.

    Once the initial indexing is complete, face indexing continues to run in the background. Faces in any images added later to the catalog are automatically detected.

    To tag an identified stack, simply type a name beneath it in the Unnamed People area. All photos in the stack are automatically tagged with that name.

    Thanks for your response. Just to be clear, will the faces sync between Lightroom CC and Lightroom Classic, allowing me to search someone's name and find their images whether I'm on mobile or desktop?

    How do I turn on this automated functionality in Lr Classic? It appears to already recognize and assign faces in Lightroom CC.

    The Face tagging feature is not available on mobile devices. Lightroom desktop does not have the option to manually do the face tagging.

    How do I turn on this automated functionality in Lr Classic? It appears to already recognize and assign faces in Lightroom CC.

    You can disable face indexing in Catalog Settings. Do the following:

    (Mac) Select Lightroom Classic > Catalog Settings.

    (Windows) Select Edit > Catalog Settings.

    On the Metadata tab, deselect Automatically Detect All Faces In All Photos.

    Close the Catalog Settings dialog box.
