Hi @Dreamy_build6966,
Thanks for the details. I know how frustrating this can be, and I’m here to help you get it https://adobe.ly/4el1QWX’s what I recommend:
1. Using Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)?
If your Gmail or Outlook account has 2FA enabled, you’ll need to generate an App Password; your regular account password won’t work with Lightroom (or any app that connects via SMTP/ports). You can do this from your email account’s security settings:
• For Gmail: https://adobe.ly/4lfm7j4
• For Outlook: https://adobe.ly/3ZKp1nD
2. Set Default Mail App (if using Mail App method):
Go to Settings > Apps > Default Apps → scroll to Outlook → assign it for MAILTO, SENDTO, MAPI, .eml, .msg, and related protocols. Windows 11 Pro handles this slightly differently than Windows 10.
Let me know how this goes. I'll be happy to walk you through any step if needed!
Best,
Anshul Saini
Hi Thanks for the contact.
Since my original posting I have tried loads of stuff and got in touch with support.
They got it working with windows defender turned off.
Here is my current progress :-
I am using windows 11 pro.
Using 2 factor authorization with an "app password" I can get Gmail to sent messages only when Windows defender firewall is turned off.
I have tried putting in inbound rules and out bound rules to windows defender , nothing seems to work.
Using outlook mail , I cant get anything to work.
Gmail will work , with Virgin F secure virus checker , Malware bytes and Nord Vpn running.
Any Idea how to get it through Defender , or how to get outlook up.
I have tried loads of combinations ????
Kind Regards
Mark
