I think I used a shortcut incorrectly? But now I don't know how to get rid of the 'green'.

What does the History panel (on the left) tell you?

If you have not done any editing to the image, this is most likely a GPU issue.

Go to Edit > Preferences > Performance, and set Use graphics processor to Off.

Does that fix the issue?

When posting screenshots, please use the Insert Photos button in the toolbar.

So was it the GPU? If so, update your graphics driver, then try to turn the GPU back on.
