P: Enable Copy for all AI mask components

Copy is disabled for all AI mask components (Subject, Sky, Background, People, Objects). However, Duplicate is available, indicating this is just a simple UI bug, not an as-designed implementation restriction on AI mask components.  Tested on LR 14.0.1 / Mac OS 14.6.1 and Windows 11:

Hey @johnrellis,

Thank you for sharing this. I’ve passed it along to the team. Please keep an eye on this post for any updates.

John,

I checked with the team and this is currently as-designed.  The original implementation of Masking lacked a mechanism for calculating the AI Mask separately.  As the feature has evolved we may now be able to do this in a future update.  I am moving to Feature Requests.

Thanks for the update.  Given that you can duplicate an AI mask component within a photo and you can copy an AI mask component between photos using Copy/Paste Settings, Sync, and Auto Sync, the lack of copy/paste sure looks like an oversight.
