Hey ,

here an article :

https://www.dpreview.com/articles/3278896840/head-to-head-adobe-lightroom-classic-vs-capture-one-21

So when it comes to speed we are 5 times slower. Why?

Can we pls have the GPU use for "import" and "export" ?

These are the most painfull tasks, you cant even do anything in the app...

So GPU and something like MediaEncoder? for Lightroom.

And why can´t we use the MediaEncoder for this?

Its there and its fast. So for the export we would have a racehores.

Then we only need something like speedy prelude for Lightroom.

Who wants more speed ?

more : ______

less: ________

thanxs

Peter

Thanks for the link to the DP Review article -- I missed that. To clarify, the article's testing says LR is better than Capture One on import but far worse on export:

"Import Test. When it comes to import and preview-generation, it might surprise you to learn that Lightroom Classic was faster across the board. ... On our two high-powered PCs, Lightroom was able to generate previews from the Fuji GFX files in approximately 40 seconds, while Capture One performed the same task in about 1 minute and 35 seconds— a 58% difference.:

"Export test. The results of our export test show that the more powerful the machine, the wider the performance gap between Capture One and Lightroom. This is because Capture One uses GPU acceleration for processing and exporting files, while Lightroom Classic does not.... Our ASUS G14 was able to export all one hundred Fuji GFX 100 raw files, fully edited, in just 6 minutes and 39 seconds when using Capture One. This same export, with the same edits, took more than 24 minutes in Lightroom Classic."
