Can't find imported profile in Lightroom Classic on Mac

I can't import/find the profile I just imported.

They are .xmp files, I tried to import by clicking + button, and also tried to copy files to the CameraRaw/Settings/Adobe/Profiles folder.

Either way, they don't show up in the app.

But when I import the same file for the second time, it says can't import because items already exist.

Yes, I had restarted the app already.

Is there anything else I need to select? I tried the same thing on my intel chip MacBook Pro and apple chip iMac, neither works.

One item that may have been overlooked, browse.

I see you managed, but did you browse?

see (ref 1) for a short article on Profiles, browse is the first item.

thanks for the reference.

Yes, I clicked browse and all. It's just not there. Maybe it's because of the source?

It's RNI's profiles, I'm need to install them because I got new computers.

I'll contact them for help, and see what's going on.

Hello! Sorry, did you figure out what was the solution for this issue with missing camera profiles? I faced the same problem today and can't understand how to solve it.

Did you update to Lightroom Classic 10.4 yet (released yesterday)? If so, did that fix it?

Where are you looking for that profile? The drop down list of profiles only shows a small favorites selection. A newly imported profile won't show up in that list. You need to use the profile browser to find it. Did you do that?

Hi Johan, thanks for your reply, yes, I went to profile browser, and still the profiles I loaded were not under manage profiles to check.

/EDIT/ my bad, conflated profile with preset/

1. Back in the Profile  panel, click + again, select Manage. Are they simply not checked to display?

2. You do have an image selected?

3. Are you working with a RAW file or a JPEG image? Some Presets are RAW only. See point 5.

4. Some Presets are for specific camera RAW files, see point 5.

5. Have you selected the option to show partially incompatible presets? If a JPEG photo is selected, or a RAW file that the profile is not designed for, then the preset will be presented in gray and italic. See (ref 1) Set in /preferences/presets/
