Is there any expert who can help?
- My iMac crashed and I had to update to macOS Mojave.
- Then I installed Lightroom 6.14. and now the CR2 files neither from my Canon 5d Mark III and neither of 5d Mark IV do not import
- In the previous version (LR 6.x) *.CR2 files from both cameras were working
- I am not sure which version I used right before the crash
- I do NOT want to use the DNG converter
- I do NOT want to upgrade to a monthly subscription.
Thanks in advance!

What happens when you try? Explain in detail. If there is an error message, please quote the exact complete unedited word-for-word verbatim error message.

In LR 6.0 I was able to import the 5d Mark III photos.
The 5d Mark IV photos couldn't be imported.
Now I updated to LR 6.7 and installed Camera Raw 10.5.
Even though I have selected all the photos, I cannot select the import button. No error message, just cannot click on the import action.

Installing ANY version of Camera Raw won't have any effect on Lightroom because Lightroom doesn't utilize the camera raw plug-in. It's necessary for you to update the Lightroom program itself in order to have support for newer cameras. You need to install the Lightroom 6.14 update because that is the last update that was released for Lightroom 6. It has all updates, and has support for the most cameras. If your camera is not supported in Lightroom 6 .14, then your only alternative will be to use the DNG converter if you aren't willing to upgrade to the subscription model.

Are the photos in the Import dialog box greyed? If you hover your mouse over one of these photos, does it say that the photo has already been Imported?

Well first off the following link show for the 5D Mk Iv, that LR (stand alone) v6.7 will work, so,yes, v 6.14 (thats newer tan 6.7) will work:
Cameras supported by Camera Raw
A however exits (** See: Limitations with Canon Dual Pixel raw files in Camera Raw and Lightroom):
Working with Canon Dual Pixel raw CR2 files in Camera Raw and Lightroom
now when you read that second links contents, while the note to look at it did not come specifically from the LR v 6.7 notes, it does mention 6.7 a lot, . It also indicates that copy as DNG might behave differently.
Oh, and a Canon software is mentioned, check that bit of info out in that link

While we are asking questions, are you using a card reader or directly connecting the cameras by USB cables?
(Using a card reader is the better option.)

Else you can try open source software like digikam or darktable.
