Lightroom 3 on Windows 10?

I purchased and installed the original Lightroom on my Windows XP laptop (screen res. = 1,280 x 800) many years ago, and then upgraded to Lightroom 3. I recently got a new Dell laptop (screen res. = 3,840 x 2,160) running Win 10. I still have the discs and serial #s for Lightroom, so installed them on my new computer. Lightroom installed and loads fine, but all the text size in the function areas around the edges is too small to read. Any thoughts on what I can do to make Lightroom usable?

Change the screen resolution to half what the native is.

In the OS you can raise the interface scaling.

Thank you, that helps greatly with Lightroom. But it seems too bad that I have to either loose the benefit of the high resolution screen for all my other programs, or keep switching the resolution up and down.

Would you, or anyone (Adobe ??) know if I bought Lightroom 6 if I would still need to change the resolution? I have Photoshop PS5, which works OK at the full native resolution.

Changing the screen resolution is not really a good idea.

Modern displays are designed to run at their native resolution, and reducing it is likely to affect sharpness, so that you may end up over sharpening your photos.

There should be some options for font size under Preferences > Interface in LR 3, at least Small and Large, but setting it to Large may not be enough.

Lightroom 6 has several options for font size, and should work without any problems.

But I would not recommend buying LR 6, since it will not receive any more updates - a much better choice is to subscribe to the Photography Plan - LR Classic and Photoshop (plus the cloud based LR CC) for $10 a month.
