Lightroom CC CR2 support

New Here ,
Apr 15, 2017 Apr 15, 2017

Lightroom still won't import my CR2 files even though i made sure I have the latest version of Lightroom CC, also updated Camera Raw to the latest version according to instructions on this site.

from what i read it should support these files from the moment i downloaded it as a part of Creative Cloud.

does anyone have any idea what might be the problem?

really appreciate the help!

Thanks

More informations are needed. What type of camera do you use, which operating system and version of Lightroom?

Do you get an error message?

Thanks for the quick reply.

I am using Lightroom version:  CC 2015 [1014445] (copied from system info in Lightroom) on Windows 8.1

My camera is a Canon 5d MK IV, and i do get an error message saying: "The files are not recognized by the raw format support  in Lightroom".

No, you don't have the latest version installed. 1014445 was the base CC2015.0/LR6.0 version, which of course doesn't support the 5DIV raw files. You need to update to at least 2015.7, but preferably to the latest 2015.10 version. See the "How do I Update" section at the end of this blog post: https://www.lightroomqueen.com/whats-new-in-lightroom-cc-2015-10-6-10/

Creative Cloud checks for updates and states that everything is uptodate so i can't update it.

is there any way  to do it manually?

You could try to sign out of the CC app, sign back in again, then do the Check for Updates again. If that still doesn't work, read to the end of that "How do I Update" paragraph, where Victoria supplies direct links to the update.

I have tried both, it's getting a bit frustrating 😕

The patch i downloaded from the link send me to a notification window saying: Update failed (updated supressed by the administrator) i didn't block it or anything!

I have no clue how to solve this..

Have you take a look here: Error downloading or updating Adobe Creative Cloud apps ?

I'll think there you'll find the solution.

Lightroom states i'm not connected to the internet (which i am) that's why it is unable to check for updates.
Also is doesn't recognize that i'm signed in with Creative Cloud.
