Lightroom Classic CC - Facial Recognition

I've been using Lightroom for some time, but just started experimenting with the "facial recognition" feature...so my questions may be naive...I apologize in advance.

I'm using Lightroom Classic CC on a PC running Windows 10 (Creator update). I applied the "facial recognition" to a sampling of RAW photos, but I noticed when I exported the photos to .JPG it does not appear that the people metadata was carried over as I had hoped.  What I mean is that I tried searching for some of the peoples names of the .JPG files using Windows File Explorer, but got not results. Is this how it's supposed to work (i.e. only include "facial recognition" with the RAW photos accessible within Lightroom only) - I hope not, or am I missing something.

I'm looking for an easy way to search for my photos in .JPG format so I can "easily" find and include them in my projects (i.e. making videos, collages, blankets, calendars, etc., etc.).

Can Lightroom Classic CC do what I'm trying to do or not?  If yes, please help me understand the steps I might be missing.

Thank you.

Hi Jules - after rereading you question if I understand you correctly you are looking for a quick way to search on images that contain certain people in them. Have you tried renaming a set of images upon export using Custom Name-Sequence? That way you can keep the original file number with the name of the person(s) in the photo and can search on the name after the export. It may be worthwhile to test this to see if it will work for you. Not sure what kind of volume you are talking about and therefore can't guess if this is too tedious of a process.

Perhaps other ACPs using Windows will chime in with a couple of suggestions.

I just tested some images-

DNGs exported to JPGs with "All Metadata"

The exported files all have the Person Keywords embedded in the Metadata of the JPG. (Not in any filename- if that is what you were expecting)

I can read the Name Keywords by showing the Properties of the JPG and looking in the "Details" tab or by showing the Navigation pane/Details pane in Windows File Explorer.

I do not know of a way to search for the "Tags" in Windows File Explorer.

Adobe Bridge can easily search for these specific 'name' keywords embedded in the JPGs. Simply click on the Keyword to show only those photos so key-worded:

Lightroom facial recognition will find the images for you which will help you locate images with people in them. Once the filter is run, you have to add the name for it to be added to the metadata. Julienne Kost has a great 5-min video here: Use Intelligent facial recognition in Lightroom Classic CC

Hope this is helfpul.

Cmgap,

Thank you for your response.  This brief video describes how "facial recognition" works within Lightroom, but it doesn't answer the questions from my original post. Maybe my request was not very clearly. If this is the case, please let me know what additional information you might need to help answer my questions.  Thank you.
