Lightroom Classic Crop Ratio issue

I am a pro photographer who has been using LR for many years.  But this new issue has me stumped.  I am trying to change the aspect ratio when cropping an image from say 2:3/4x6 to 3:2/6x4 (ie portrait to landscape orientation).  Usually, I just press the x as the keyboard shortcut whilst in the crop tool mode and it flips around instantly.  But since the update, when I press the x, it just "rejects" the image (as it normally would if not in the crop tool mode).  I have tried setting a custom ratio but it just defaults to either the vertical or horizontal perspective depending on the way the image was shot.  I simply want to be able to crop an image that was shot in landscape orientation, into a portrait orientation.  It is such a simple thing and ridiculous that I can't work this out.  I have trawled through the LR preferences and can't find any settings.  I have no idea what I am missing?  Or is this a glitch?  Please help guys!

Very strange. It works just fine on my machine running the latest LR Classic. I would start by trying to reset your Lightroom preferences (see here: https://www.lightroomqueen.com/articles-page/how-do-i-reset-lightrooms-preferences/). Perhaps a strange interaction with a system keyboard setting can also be responsible?

Hmm, pressing x in crop tool mode works normally for me (it flips the aspect ratio). Are you absolutely sure you are in crop tool mode?

Yes, exactly Jao vdL this is how I usually do it too.  But ever since updating to LR Classic it won't work.  I tried to do a screen record to show you but it won't record in develop module properly for some reason.  Here is a screenshot though:  http://prntscr.com/h17t4r
