No import of ARW files with Lightroom CC2015

Hi all,

I know that the topic was discussed before, but still all described solutions do not work for me. Therefore I hope to find some help here.

I have a Sony Alpha 7 II.

I can not import the .ARW files and also can not convert them to .DNG in Lightroom. The only workaround is via Camera Ray CC- using this interface is unhandy.

I am using Lightroom CC2015.  System info says:

Lightroom version:  CC 2015 [1014445]

License: Creative Cloud

Operating system: Windows 7 Enterprise Edition

Version: 6.1 [7601]

Application architecture: x64

System architecture: x64

From what I understand my Lightroom should be able to import ARW- right? I also tried to re-install Lightroom with no effect.

Can you help?

Best and thanks in Advance, Isabell

The Sony Alpha a7 II was first supported in LR 5.7.1: Cameras supported by Camera Raw . Your version of CC 2015 is out-of-date (version 0), but it is later than 5.7.1, so it should be able to import a7 II raws.

I suggest updating to the latest version of CC 2015.12 by doing Help > Updates. If that doesn't work (it sometimes doesn't), you can manually download and install the 2015.12 update from here: Download Photoshop Lightroom . Make sure you download the update, not the application installer. Once you've verified you have 2015.12, try it again.

I am having THE SAME issue, but my Classic LR CC is the updated 2015.12 and still I cannot update the ARW files! How do I remedy this?

Please do Help > System Info and copy the first ten lines here, to verify precisely which version you're running.

Are you trying to import raws from the Sony A7 II (requires LR CC 2015.2 / 6.2 or later), the Sony A7 III (requires LR 7.3 or later), or some other camera?
