PRESETS Managements : Adobe Lightroom Classic / Adobe Camera Raw

Hello dear Adobe LightCame raRawRoom Classic CC 2018,

Since we have now the 2 adobe "RAW" image editor really well synchronyzed`;;;

I would like more info on how to manage the extremely serious presets (in these 2 applications)

1st ) I notice that now, The "true" file format presets used by both applications are now ACR XMP file format used by both applications,

Then if you import some older presets especially made for lightroom : The are systematically automatically converted into an XMP format.

... It looks like there is no point to still create to share the various Lightroom (only) presets with .lrtemplate

The 1st thing, I think would cause some problems or bug are this automatic conversion from .lrtemplate to .XMP

My main concern is that we have now ALL our .lrtrmplate (lightroom preset) duplicate

so it is quiete dumb to duplicate all those files (exactly the same but the file size approx. double in the conversion/duplication process...

SOOOO : My 1st (not so dumb) question is = Is there any well hidden use to keep the .lrtemplate files from the various Lightroom subfolders here:

~/Library/Application\ Support/Adobe/Lightroom

(since they look like they are no longer in use since the new Adobe CC 2018 prefer working both with the .XMP "duplicates" located here :

~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw

2nd question : Can get rid of all the folder inside ~/Library/Application\ Support/Adobe/Lightroom (since lightroom use the amp version at ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw ??

Since the adobe process to do so is quiete  new, There is no really information (beyond the shadow of a doubt...!)

3rd question : there is an option "to managed the lightroom presets" by shaking on/off some subfolders...

but is it possible to create a folder perhaps in the same proximity of Lightroom App Support presets files, to put the presets when don't want to use but not really completely deleting them...

What is the best way to manage ON/OFF presets in your opinion, (the second option I propose, I think might be really more convienant, for user with multiple workstation, with this technique, you just have to copy the entire ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw to another computer to get all the same presets and preferences on the 2 computers...

I am also asking this, because the Lightroom Classic CC 2018 is now more more slow...

It is really a pain in the 'wacom stylet' to use the adjustments bush; have to wait 1 minutes between each brush stroke... (but I didn't remember it was so slow on previous version....

and I have fallow all your performance tips to speed-up lightroom (by the way the same tool is working was better and faster in Camera £Raw... how is this possible ?...??

And you also advice to regularly clean and trash all the presets you don't use,

and of course I deactivate to AUTO - Metadata - Save Option in the Lightroom Catalog Setting....

So Well, Please Can you help me ?

+ The slowness of all the Local adjustment or Radial Graduate Filter, is really boring, : much more fast to do this in Adobe Camera Raw, which is much slower than doing it in Adobe P hotoshop...

I am sure we are quiete a few with the bug and conclusions...

And I am even more sure that you know exactly what is going on here...

Please help

and Thanks in advance to respond to my 3 ⅔ questions....

have a sunny day (like here in paris 🙂

ps: I am working with the latest Adobe CC 2018 I possibly install in my middle-age Mac Pro 4,1

running on Mac OS 10.11.6

No, just back them up somewhere in case you ever go back to an earlier version of LR.

Yes, but what harm does it do? No information because no-one thinks it's important?

No built-in method. Do whatever makes sense to you - I've just left them as there were.
