Question

Tethering Nikon D750 and Lightroom

I just purchased a tethering cable for my Nikon D750 and MacBook Pro.  The cable fits fine.   LR (using version 7.2) recognizes the camera but I came across a few issues that I can't seem to fix:

1.  I can't see the image that I am trying to compose on the computer.  I have to look through the camera's view finder to compose the image, then I shoot it using the button on my laptop.  The image, once taken, appears on my laptop...but I would like to be able to see the image on my laptop WHILE composing.  Is there something I need to adjust in LR or on my camera to do this?

2.  Does the image save to my laptop AND the memory card?  When taking some test shots, I noticed that the images were being saved to my laptop but when I looked at the file review on my camera, it said that there were no images and that the card was empty.  Later, I put the memory card into my desktop computer, and the images were in fact there.  So I guess they did save to my memory card?  Does this happen once the tether session ends?

If you know the answers to either question, I would be grateful for any advice.  Thank you!

There is no live view, and images are only saved to the computer when you are using the tethered option.

Tethering should be defined as an ability to see the image in preview - the ability to download a file after capture is a simple download.

Defined as the ability to almost immediately view images on a laptop or other device taken by a camera.. Not remote control of the camera.
