P: Installations from Mac App Store fail on some operations

I am unable to use the auto mask feature after the lastest October version 7.0 update. When trying to use an AI mask an error message comes up "Something went wrong - There was an unexpected error and your request could not be complete.". Under the masking panel, LR also does not recognize any human subjects.

I am on MacOS 14.0 and have tried reinstalling LR. Is this a known bug currently or something wrong with my system/installation?

Note: Only Mac App Store Versions numbered 7.0 are affected by this issue. Verify your installed version by going to Help>System Info… and reviewing the exact installed version number of your software.

To correct this issue, you need to either:

  1.  Uninstall the Mac App Store version and then Install Lightroom Desktop 7.0 from the Creative Cloud Desktop App
    or
  2.  Install Lightroom Desktop 7.0.1 from the Mac App Store.

Either will fix this issue.

Thank you for your patience.

Canon full-RAW CR2 files are showing as 'This selected photo is not supported by this feature'.

It has been working fine for months with my Canon CR2 files, but in the past few days it has been showing this error message, even on files that have previously been denoised just fine. Files from just 5 hours ago are showing the message.

Any ideas on how to rectify this?

My LR updated tonight and now none of my editing tools are working besides my presets. I can not denoise or masking etc. Has anyone else had this issue? What can I do?

I did a lot of research before posting this. Did all the troubleshooting tips. I shoot in RAW from a Canon R5, always have, I use denoise daily. All of a sudden, it didn't work today, and I noticed the app updated yesterday. I tried deleting the hidden file in other troubleshooting threads, I toggled the graphics processor thing on and off, my Macbook Pro software is the latest version (Sonoma) and has an M1 chip. Why isn't this working? Thank you.

More information: Lightroom recognizes that I have a graphics processor so there's no issue there. I have over 2GB free memory so that's not the issue either. Can anyone help me?

Hello,

My version of Lightroom updated today and now the masking tool no longer works.

I use it for editing images of jewellery photographed on a white background. So I'm basically using the object tool to make masks. Whenever I select an area with the tool, the mask just doesn't appear.

I have tried uninstalling, switching off and on again, logging out and back in and editing in both cloud and local areas. None of these options resolve the issue. I'm using a Macbook - Ventura 13.4.1.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Many thanks!
