P: Installations from Mac App Store fail on some operations

I am unable to use the auto mask feature after the lastest October version 7.0 update. When trying to use an AI mask an error message comes up "Something went wrong - There was an unexpected error and your request could not be complete.". Under the masking panel, LR also does not recognize any human subjects.

I am on MacOS 14.0 and have tried reinstalling LR. Is this a known bug currently or something wrong with my system/installation?

Note: Only Mac App Store Versions numbered 7.0 are affected by this issue. Verify your installed version by going to Help>System Info… and reviewing the exact installed version number of your software.

To correct this issue, you need to either:

  1.  Uninstall the Mac App Store version and then Install Lightroom Desktop 7.0 from the Creative Cloud Desktop App
    or
  2.  Install Lightroom Desktop 7.0.1 from the Mac App Store.

Either will fix this issue.

Thank you for your patience.

@Brandon32815975dp45  Hoping later today, but that is far from definite.
If you need it today, I would uninstall and reinstall via the CCD App

So I want to start off by saying ive done this plenty of times without issue, however after a recent update i can no longer "denoise" my Sony a6100 files. it worked fine for months but now it says "photo not compatible". I cannot understand why this is happening as i said it worked fine for hundreds of client files and then boom somehow it doesn't work; i have enhanced dng's of the same file type right there but i cannot create any new ones. PLEASE HELP, i have weddings to deliver!

When I updated to the latest Lightroom and the latest macOS 14.1, ai denoise did not work, and I replaced both cameras with the same result.

My Lightroom updated yesterday and I keep getting this error when I try to create a mask. It’s not finding “people” or “subjects” and I can’t even paint one on. Is anyone else having this issue? How can I fix it? I deleted and re installed the app already

It would be best to share a file that will not DeNoise to us here on the forum and see if we see the same issue.  Is that possible?

I cannot share a file because they are all client photos. But they are Sony ARW files and they used to denoise just fine but now I get a prompt saying "photo unsupported" and it just will not execute the task no matter how I change up my settings. Worked fine for months but this last update has made it not work for any of my files even though there are enhanced dng's of the same session right next to it

Seems a bit redundant but sure whenever I find time I'll send something over. It'd be nice if adobe just put out updates that don't brick important features that I rely upon. I'm not the only person complaining about this specific issue

Is the photo selected a normal RAW file. Not any form of compressed. And if the camera saves RAW as DNG, is it a full DNG.

Before I updated the software, everything was fine. Now the photos of my two cameras have the same problem, so I think it's a software problem.

What exact make and model is the camera? What file type and compression is the file? Can you share one of these files on DropBox or similar and provide the link to us?

We ask for this information because people can say that it worked before and it doesn't work now, but there are situations that have actually happened here in this forum where the user made a change to a camera setting (possibly without realizing it) and that's the reason it doesn't work now. So we need specific information, as stated above.

Also, it appears from your screen capture that you are not using Lightroom Classic, but this is the Lightroom Classic forum. Better to ask in the proper forum.

In the Lightroom desktop version (not LRC), once I downloaded the new update (version 7.0), it will not recognize anything in masking. I have to go through each photo using brush which is inaccurate and time consuming.
I have a newer MAC desktop that is up to date as well and I have plenty of storage. I have no idea what caused this.

Merci d’avance !

Hello all,

I have encountered a new problem since Adobe Lightroom on my MacBook has been updated to Version 7.0. The photos in my albums (RAW: NEF & .CR2) cannot be denoised through the Enhance feature. Some of the images in the same album have been previously denoised before the update. However, all photos I have attempted to denoise populate the screen with this error message.

Screenshot 2023-10-11 at 2.51.54 PM.png

As you can see in the strip, some photos have already been denoised before the update. Has anyone experienced the same problem since updating to Version 7.0 on MacOS? If so, has anyone found a way to troubleshoot the problem?

Thanks,

David

When I use a subject, background, or sky mask, the following error appears:

"There was an unexpected error and your request could not be completed".

I tried following the steps on other posts (like troubleshooting GPU issues), restarting, and updating my Mac software, but nothing worked. Can anyone help me?
