When Adobe first introduced it’s iOS import Shortcut for Lightroom I started using it often and reliably. However, it suddenly stopped working on both my 2021 M1 iPad Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. Now when I try to use the shortcut to import an image from Photos it gives the error “The operation could not be completed. (WFActionErrorDomain error 1” Has anyone else encountered this problem? I have tried deleting he shortcut and recreating it, but it did not help.

Greetings all,

Updates for Adobe Photography products have been released.  The February 2023  updates contain a fix for this issue.

If you do not see the update in your Creative Cloud Application, you can refresh it by hitting [Ctrl/Cmd]+[Alt/Opt]+[ R ].

Note: It may take up to 24 hours for your update to be available in your Creative Cloud app.

Thank you for your patience.

@kevinwestby which iOS version are you on and which Shortcut app version are you on?
Does it help recreating the shortcut?
Is this e.g. a synced shortcut?

Thanks,
Ignacio

Hi, I am running iPadOS and IOS version 15.2 and the latest version of the Apple Shortcuts app.  The shortcut is synced between my iPad Pro, iPhone 13 and Macbook Pro (running Monterey 12.1)

I have tried deleting and re-creating the shortcut and I get the same error.  The details of my Shortcut steps are attached above.

This isn't necessarily new or device specific,  I've been dealing with it for at least a year and a half on MANY different devices.  Adobe just now going on it seems....fitting

Hi @Rikk Flohr: Photography , could you please tell us when this bug should be fixed? It's still there with last Lightroom app version and iOS 16.

Ignacio, Rick I just realized this has been broken for almost a year. Could You be so kind and give us a heads up on the issue? It is a real blocker for my workflow atm.

Well latest update today appears to have partially fixed this......but now I get the attached error message.  Anyone seeing the same?  The shortcut appears to complete, and the image is added to Lightroom, but this is displayed every time I run the shortcut.  I've tried killing the app, same result.......may try a complete reboot of my iPad and/or re-creating the shortcut to see if it helps.0CA5459F-3119-4648-88F4-32381DBC355D.jpeg

Thank you for confirming the fix.

The issue that you are now running into is a different issue.
We should probably create a new thread for that particular issue.
Once you've create a new thread, can you let us know what your shortcut does exactly and what device you are on?

I am not getting that error.  The new update is working for me.  I imported several RAWs using the shortcut and they imported.  I then selected 8 more including 4 I already imported and it correctly imported the 4 new ones and said 4 were already imported.

What import scenario were you using to cause the error?

@kevinwestby a workaround would be to start Lightroom before you run the import shortcut. I.e. over the shortcut itself, "start app Lightroom"

Yes,  I get the error if i DO NOT have LrM already running so the workaround works!

That is it! If LR is not running, I get the error. If I launch it and then run the shortcut, no error message.

Terrible testing on Adobe’s part (IMHO)…..but as long as I can use the shortcut again, I’m “happy” 😀

I’ll log a separate issue/bug report on this one……if someone hasn’t already.
