I just bought and installed Adobe Lightroom to my Windows 10 pc today. I only uploaded a small portion of my photos using the desktop version, 1,122, because my primary initial need is for organization. I stopped here to test out the facial recognition features. The people view option has been enabled, I enabled in upon installation. All my pictures are of people. It has been over 6 hours since upoading all pictures and they are all "synced and backed up" However, whenever I click on the People tab it still reports "No People Found Yet. Synced photos will be analysed in the cloud. Ensure your photos are synced and check back later."  What am I doing wrong?

When looking at individual photos, click on the Keyword (Tag) icon near the bottom of the right-hand toolbar. Any identified faces will appear at the top of the keywords panel, which will then allow you to name them. For images with multiple people, hover over each unnamed entry in the panel and a rectangle will appear over the corresponding face on the main image. Once a face has been named, it will subsequently appear in the list when selecting the People tab in the left-hand panel.

One thing to note, which might explain why you do not yet see any entries when you select the "People" tab, is that there needs to be 5 instances for any unnamed face to appear in the "People" tab. Once a face has been named, however, it will then appear in the "People" tab even if there are less than 5 instances of that face in the library.

Progress! I did what you suggested, and the people I tagged no appear in the people tab BUT there is only the picture I tagged accredited to the Person. For example, these are all work pictures, and I tagged the CEO for the last 20 years who is in hundreds of these pictures. When I go to People he appears, but only in the one photo I tagged him in.  I assumed this software would use facial recognition to then find that face in any other photos, which is why I got it.

Is there another step I am missing?

I posted a reply asking for further suggestions because your reply did help in one way but not in others. Can you still help?

A couple of things that you might have already tried:

1. Click on the People tab, then click again on the people thumbnail that should now be there. Does it then suggest other faces that it thinks are the same person? It usually does whenever I've used the People tool.

2. If that does nothing, find a couple more images that contain the same face but which are still unnamed, then go through the process of naming the face regions again. The idea is that the more different views of the same face that you name, the more likely the face recognition software will be able to identify that same face in other images.

1.  It does not make any suggestions.

2. I tagged and identified our CEO in 13 different pictrures and those are the only pictures that appear in the count under his name. Lightroom is not offering any suggestions for additonal pictures. When I search all pictures for him, only the 13 that I manually identified him in show up (and there are hundreds more)

3. Thank you for your help in this matter..

It is; I enabled it upon startup. I have disabled, restarted and reenabled twice from reading other people's solutions, but still no change.

Are you operating from or using an ISP in a jurisdiction that does not allow for biometric data collection (e.g. Illinois, GDPR territories, etc.)?

Proximity to Illinois makes me suspicious of your ISP. It might be worth checking with them to make certain they aren't showing as Illinois to the rest of the world.

These are all the faces I have manually tagged in photos hoping to "teach" Lightroom the faces.

Our IT team did reach out to our ISP and our traffic is NOT being routed through Illinois.  I am still unable to get the people function to work. Any assistance would be appreciated.
